The Powerfly 9 has been completely re-invented for 2018, upgrades include a fully integrated battery, internal cable routing, stealth dropper post, plus-size tyres and Fox suspension. The Powerfly 9 has never looked and ridden this good! The driving force behind the 2018 Powerfly comes from the top-of-the-line Bosch Performance CX motor, capable of delivering a mighty 75Nm of torque, this motor is capable of powering you up the steepest of climbs with minimal effort. The Performance CX includes the new eMTB mode straight out of the box which offers progressive motor support that automatically adapts to your individual riding style – starting on steep slopes is no longer an issue and off-road riding has been made significantly easier! The neatly integrated 500Wh battery provides enough juice for a full day's worth of riding and is charged in just a matter of hours. All controlled from the Purion display, the system is easy to use, giving a clear display of all the important riding information, such as speed and the remaining range of the bike. One notable improvement on the 2018 model is the Fox Performance 34 Float 120mm fork which has been optimised specifically for e-bikes, with a stouter chassis and longer durability due to adding material to strengthen the critical areas. The forks feature the same black anodized 7000 series aluminium tubes as the Performance Elite forks but feature a FIT GRIP damper. This fork is the ideal choice for an eMTB of this stature and provides optimum comfort and performance out on the trail. SRAM's EX1 drivetrain is the worlds first drivetrain specifically developed for the unique demands of electric mountain bikes. Featuring proven SRAM 1x technology combined with the wide 11-48, 8 speed cassette which allows optimal steps between cogs for more purposedriven shifts and providing the best gear-range for electric mountain bikes. This set-up is super quiet in operation and the intuitive shifting provides increased battery life and greater durability. Chunky 27.5×2.80 Schwalbe Rocket Ron Performance tyres come tubeless ready and work in combination with the Bontrager rims and boost-hubs to give maximum control and keep you firmly planted on the trail. Complemented by SRAM Guide RE hydraulic disc brakes, this set-up combines speed and corner control at the highest possible level! The Powerfly 9 also includes internal cable routing with a stealth Bontrager Drop Line dropper post, allowing mid-flow changes to your saddle position to allow you to get nice and low on the downhills, with the reassurance that you can quickly raise it back up when approaching steep terrain. The Powerfly 9 27.5+ bike certainly stands out from the crowd and will set the standard for plus-size bikes to come in the 2018 season.
