The Santa Cruz Hightower LT CC XX1 Mountain Bike 2018 has been designed for maximum speed in the biggest mountains. It's truly race-bred, its design the result of the demands of racing at the EWS, Crankworx, and Andes Pacifico. The Hightower roared onto the scene in 2016, capturing the attention of everyone looking for the speed that big wheels deliver in big terrain. But there was always an inkling that the Hightower had more to offer, the stock travel wasn't quite enough to hit rougher tracks flat out. Enter the Santa Cruz Hightower LT with its 150mm VPP suspension. With the help of some of the fastest & most stylish riders around, the Hightower LT came to be. The links went through a few iterations, eventually reaching that sweet spot of spring rate, travel, and shock compatibility. Just like what was done with the V10, the LT receives a completely redesigned swingarm to match the new links. The LT's geometry is extremely close to the regular Hightower, as the bikes share a front triangle. The increased travel means the reach is slightly (7mm) shorter, the head angle a half-degree slacker, and the seat angle a half-degree slacker, as well. The rear triangle retains the dual upright design, but adds a post-mount rear brake. Unlike the regular Santa Cruz Hightower, you can't run 27.5+ sized tyres in the LT, and there's no flip chip to change the suspension. Instead, the 2018 Santa Cruz Hightower LT is focused entirely on going fast and giving you a bigger margin of error when taking on heavy hitting terrain. This material allows for higher stress points of the frame to be built without additional reinforcement, shaving off more than half a pound from the frame in the process.
