As you may know I live, breath & eat my mountainbike and now road bike. So as I compete on a regular basis I thought it would be good to give something back to Charity.
I competed in the Dark Peak Challenge a challenging 71km bike race in the Peak District National Park starting from Lady Bower Resovoir in Bamford, Hope Valley.
The first challenge was a strenuous 6 mile climb up Snake Pass to 1600 feet above sea level, Here you reach moorland plateau between Kinder Scout and Bleaklow where the views are spectacular. We then joined the Trans Pennine Trail then headed up hill and down dale to the finish. I completed the course in 3hrs 19mins, closely followed by Oliver and Wesley. We all enjoyed the day and look forward to next years event.
Well done to everybody who took part and has raised money for this great charity.
